Redbridge Fishing Lakes, one of the fastest growing match fishing venues in the UK see its first under 12s match fishing competition become an amazing success story on Wednesday 20th April 2011,
The competition got under way at 11am sharp on one of the brightest days of the month. With over 50 children taking part, Gordon Bullock, Managing Director and owner of Redbridge Lakes and his team of staff and expert anglers offered 15 minute sessions to the children accross six pegs, swapping the children over after each session.
Every child caught fish with some children bagging weights of over 25 ounces in the 15 minute session, with one child hitting a winning weight of 36 ounces. Louis Bell, winner of the competition was as pleased as punch as he bagged over 2lbs of fish in 15 minutes. Louis had an impressive mixed bag that would have made any seasoned anglers day.
"It was a fantastic day!" says Gordon Bullock. "It was hard work getting the sessions and timing right, which I must thank all of our star anglers and staff for. I'm looking forward to our next competition and so are the children!"
The competition also saw viewers from as far as Hong Kong and New Zealand via our unique fishing webcam. The parents who were overseas were very pleased with the fact that they were able to see their children fishing live via the website.
