WHAT DOES WELLBEING MEAN TO YOU?

WE DON’T SHOUT ABOUT IT, BUT MAYBE WE SHOULD.

There are lots of definitions. One is about being healthy, happy and content with your life. Simple, huh?  Well, no...

Life gets tough sometimes; stress at work, relationships, health, bereavement, financial worries, drink, drugs, homelessness, and much more. It can affect any one of us.

Redbridge Lakes works with independent charities and groups that support the wellbeing of  local people. We provide the facilities - they provide the support.

Each project brings light into someone’s life, helping them cope with adversity. Sometimes it's as simple as a friendly face and a quiet chat, and where better than a tranquil nature reserve, surrounded by birds, bees, butterflies and wild flowers. Even on our busiest day, there is always a peaceful spot for a cuppa and a chat.

Our groups help the homeless, people living with mental health problems, bereaved children and parents, kids with learning difficulties, the elderly, people living with disability, dementia, and people who face anxiety and depression, and those who are lonely and isolated. We support activity groups like paddle-boarding, free-swimming, gardening, women's fitness, massage therapy, and the Brownies & Guides.

WE DON'T SHOUT ABOUT IT, BUT MAYBE IT'S TIME WE DID.

In October 2023 we formed Wellbeing@TheLakes to bring our groups together. With a wealth of professional talent, they share experiences and expertise, their successes and difficulties. They learn from one another, and collectively become more than the sum of their parts.

It is hugely rewarding for us to see the work our groups do and we are immensely proud that they choose to work at with us at Redbridge lakes.
